Susan Burke

Susan is the lead architect of all software products at Firebrand. Susan started with the company almost at its very inception, and worked with Fran prior to him starting the company. Her attention to detail, elephantine memory, and extraordinary design skills lead to systems that are smartly conceived, easily adaptable to change, and flexible enough to handle requirements that are not yet fully known.

Doug Lessing

Doug is the Chief Uniter for Firebrand. In 1990, Doug graduated from St. Michael’s College in Winooski (Onion), Vermont. He followed in the footsteps of big sister Susan Burke and joined Firebrand - this ‘cool’ technology company – and has been working with Fran and Susan ever since. Many years were spent developing publishing software and even more years integrating software and managing projects. Doug has worked through the thorniest of publisher issues, often going well beyond technology to solve them. In the spring of 2007, Doug transitioned into a Client Relations role, setting out to make sure Firebrand’s current clients are being well served and ensuring that Firebrand is establishing new relationships through marketing and sales. In this role, he is given the opportunity to preach often about the Firebrand philosophy. The greatest reward working in the publishing industry has been the friendships forged both in house and with publishers through long days of hard work.

Brock Lyman

Brock is in charge of Integration Services for Firebrand. After several years as the director of Development and Support, Brock is taking over a new role. Brock knows more about what the software does and how it does it, than anyone else at Firebrand.

Paul Milana

Paul is a systems integrator for Firebrand. Although only with us for a few years, Paul is a proven genius at manipulating data and unsurpassed at creating reports that serve our customer's needs.

Rob Stevens

Following in the title naming convention here at Firebrand Rob Stevens is the new "Chief Community Officer" otherwise known as the Community Manager. Rob's main strengths lie in his understanding of what customers are trying to accomplish, and his 'bedside manner' in helping them get through the process. Rob is a real people person, and it's evident that he truly enjoys helping our clients better understand our software and explaining the best way to use it. Expect a call or visit from Rob in the not too distant future.

Catherine Toolan

Catherine is in charge of our eloquence services. In her role - and supported by Linda Adler and Denise Crawshaw - she does everything from tracking down a minor fix on Amazon, to insuring that a client's configuration is set correctly for dealing with all data partners. Our success with eloquence is directly related to her hard work, persistence, and fun loving spirit.

Fran Toolan

Image:fpt.jpgFran is the founder and Chief Igniter of Firebrand. For more than 20 years, Fran has been working with book publishers to help them improve their businesses through the use of technology. Fran's passion for, and view of the book publishing business can be found on his blog.
